The current standard for bone fixation hardware is Titanium. Not only is it expensive to manufacture and therefore purchase, but also implanting metallic alloys in the body comes with certain risks capable of affecting the patient long after the healing process has completed.
The OsteoForge system produces hardware and bone fragments that are not only customizable by the surgeon for the individual patient, but completely bioresorptive. Within several years after implantation, the OsteoForge composite hardware and/or bone fragments will have been completely converted to natural bone tissue by the body’s osteogenerative processes. This removes every negative aspect and possible complication of leaving metal (or plastic) implants in the body permanently. Below are a couple videos that explains our process further. |
